A starting point you can adjust for your dates, pace and group size.

A little background on each place this trip takes you to.
Kovalam is a classic Kerala beach town, its long Arabian Sea coastline anchored by a working lighthouse that's still open to visitors, with a relaxed pace suited to families and couples alike.
Varkala's dramatic red laterite cliffs run along the shoreline above Papanasam Beach, lined with a row of clifftop cafes and shops, and are the town's signature sunset spot.
Kollam sits at the southern end of the backwater network, with its own quieter stretch of canals and Ashtamudi Lake, an easy add-on between Varkala and Alleppey.
Alleppey's backwaters are best experienced from an overnight houseboat, drifting past coconut palms, paddy fields and quiet canal-side villages on Vembanad Lake.
