A little background on each place this trip takes you to.
Lakkidi View Point marks the gateway to Wayanad, a sweeping lookout over the Western Ghats often wrapped in mist, and one of the first proper views of the district on the drive up.
The Edakkal Caves hold Neolithic-era rock carvings among the oldest evidence of human habitation in South India, reached by a short but steep climb up Ambukuthi Mala with views over Wayanad along the way.
Kerala's largest fort, spread across 40 acres on the coast of Kasaragod district. Built in its present form around 1650 and later held by Hyder Ali, Tipu Sultan and the British, it is a purely military structure known for its keyhole shaped cannon openings and sweeping sea views.
Bekal Beach stretches below Bekal Fort's ramparts, a quieter North Kerala shoreline with the fort's silhouette as a backdrop, especially at sunset.
