Visit Alappuzha's most celebrated temples, known for their ancient legends, sacred groves and vibrant annual festivals.

A little background on each place this pilgrimage takes you to.
Ambalappuzha Sree Krishna Temple is famed for its Palpayasam, a sweet milk payasam offering whose legend recalls a game of chess between the King of Ambalappuzha and Lord Krishna in disguise. Built in traditional Kerala temple architecture, it remains one of central Travancore's most visited Krishna shrines.
Set inside a dense sacred grove near Haripad, Mannarasala is one of Kerala's most important centres of serpent worship, home to thousands of snake idols installed over generations. Uniquely for a Kerala temple, its chief priestess is traditionally a woman.
Chettikulangara Devi Temple near Mavelikkara is known for its Kettukazhcha festival, when enormous decorated effigies are paraded to the temple, one of central Travancore's largest and most colourful temple processions.
