A little background on each place this pilgrimage takes you to.

This Thiruvananthapuram temple enshrines the goddess Attukal Amma, worshipped as Bhadrakali and linked in local folklore to the Kannaki legend. It is renowned for Attukal Pongala, an annual festival drawing millions of women to cook a ritual rice offering in the streets around the temple.
Azhimala Shiva Temple stands on a rocky headland at Azhimala, near Vizhinjam, with the Arabian Sea on one side. It is best known for the Gangadhareshwara statue, a 58 foot figure of Lord Shiva with the river Ganga flowing from his hair, made by the local sculptor P. S. Devadathan. The sea facing setting makes it a popular stop for both devotees and visitors.
A beach on the edge of Thiruvananthapuram city, close to the airport, traditionally used as the ceremonial sea bathing ghat during the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple's Arattu festival procession. Today it is also known for its large mermaid sculpture and sunset views.
